The Sony Radio Awards 2013 were handed out last night with Absolute Radio's Christian O'Connell being named Music Radio Personality of the Year with the Gold Award, beating Lauren Laverne and Ken Bruce who took silver and bronze respectively.

BBC Radio 4's The Today Programme has appointed Newsnight's acting deputy editor Jamie Angus as editor. Angus is a former editor of Radio 4's World at One and will replace Ceri Thomas, who was appointed as BBC head of news programmes in March.
