The 3rd World is the third studio album by rapper Immortal Technique, following a five-year absence since Revolutionary Vol. 2.[8] It was released on June 24, 2008, on Viper Records.[8] The 3rd World peaked at number 99 on the Billboard 200 chart.[9] He claimed in an interview from September 2009 to have sold more than 60,000 copies.[10] The album was conceived while recording material for other forthcoming projects with DJ Green Lantern and Southpaw.[11]
In 2009 Immortal Technique used the proceeds from this album to fund and construct an orphanage in Afghanistan.[12]
Throughout the album, Immortal Technique argues that the repressed Black, Asian and Latino people of the United States are the natural allies of the people of the Third World. Immortal Technique does Support Islam in this Album and explains more about Colonialism, Fascism and Politicians. This Album also reached The Top #20 Hip-Hop Albums of 2008.
