There are a number of systems of communication in Suriname, including a system of telephony, and radio telecommunications. The country code and top-level domain for Suriname is "SR".

There are 56,844 main telephone lines in use in Suriname, and 3,671 mobile telephones in use. Suriname has the capacity for international telecommunications, using two Intelsat satellite earth stations. Domestic telecom in the country uses a microwave radio relay network.

Internet services in Suriname are provided by a number of internet service providers. Two providers offer dialup internet, two provide wireless internet, and a further two provide ISDN. One provider offers DSL internet.

Suriname possesses four AM, 13 FM and 1 shortwave radio broadcast stations serving 300,000 radios.

There are three television broadcast stations and a further seven repeaters in Suriname, with 63,000 televisions in the country.
