The telecommunications in Sierra Leone consist of an estimated total of 25,000 main telephone lines in use as of 2001, and 17,000 as of 1995. An estimated 420,000 mobile cellular telephones were in use as of 2007. The telephone and telegraph services are marginal but improving. The national microwave radio relay trunk system connects Freetown to Bo and Kenema, with 5 mobile phone networks (GSM900) with national coverage. There is a satellite earth station - 1 Intelsat (Atlantic Ocean). There are an estimated 1.12 million radios and 53,000 televisions as of 1997, and two television broadcast stations as of 2006. There is an estimated 20,000 internet users as of 2001. The country code for top-level domains is .sl.
