Career[edit]

Stephen Norrington first worked in film as a special effects artist in films including Aliens and Split Second. His first debut as a director was in the 1994 movie Death Machine. But it was directing in Blade in 1998 that gained him international status as the film became a box office hit. Despite the film's success, Norrington turned down directing the sequel. The most recent film he directed was League of Extraordinary Gentlemen during which he had such a hard time with the film's star that he announced he would never direct another film again. He would later change his mind.

Norrington was originally attached to Dimension Films's Ghost Rider before the project was acquired by Columbia Pictures.[2] Norrington was at one point attached to direct Freddy vs. Jason before Ronny Yu was chosen. Norrington was also originally set to direct a remake of the 1981 fantasy film Clash of the Titans, before the position went to Louis Leterrier, director of The Incredible Hulk.[3] In 2008 it was announced that Norrington would direct a reboot of the The Crow franchise.[4] In 2010 it was reported that Norrington will direct and write the supernatural action thriller The Lost Patrol which is distributed by Legendary Pictures.[5]

I know, I know! I kept calling him Northington. That aside it's confirmed that Norrington is no longer going to direct the new Crow movie.

League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Sean Connery stars as Allan Quatermain, the world's greatest adventurer, who leads a legion of superheroes the likes of which the world has never seen! Because it's a bad movie: horribly shot, horribly directed (Stephen Norrington has not directed anything since), the acting is mostly awful (it's not for nothing that Sean Connery retired from acting after making this flick), the plot mostly stupid and ...
