Platygillellus altivelis, known commonly as the Sailfin stargazer in the United Kingdom,[1] is a species of sand stargazer in the genus Platygillellus.[2] It is a tropical blenny known from around Costa Rica and Panama, in the eastern central Pacific Ocean.[2] It was described by C.E. Dawson in 1974.[3] Blennies in this species swim at a depth range of 3-37 metres, and can reach a maximum length of 4.4 centimetres.[2] They feed primarily off of benthic invertebrates and finfish.[4]
