Sir Shadi Lal lists Phaphra as one of the tribes from Jhelum in his books "The Punjab Pre-emption Act (II of 1905), with Comments and Notes of Decided Cases" and "The Punjab Alienation of Land Act, XIII of 1900 (as Amended by Punjab Act, I of 1907), with Comments and Notes of Cases".
