The Pacific College of Oriental Medicine is a private, for-profit college in the United States, with campuses in San Diego, New York, and Chicago. The school offers associates, bachelors and masters programs specializing in oriental medicine, acupuncture and massage. Pacific College is owned by the private equity firm Quad Partners.

Accreditation [edit]
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine was founded in San Diego in 1986. PCOM's San Diego campus was made a candidate for Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) accreditation in 1990. It was accredited in 1995, and reaccredited in 2000 and 2004. The New York branch was made a candidate by ACAOM in November 1993, became accredited in November 1995, and was reaccredited in 2001 and 2004. The Chicago branch was accredited in May 2001 and reaccredited in May 2004.
In 2009 PCOM was sold to private equity firm Quad Partners.

The mission of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine is to educate and inspire students to become compassionate, skilled providers of patient-centered healthcare using traditional East Asian and integrative medicine.
Degrees offered [edit]
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (San Diego) was approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE) as a degree-granting institution. The BBPVE was dissolved on June 30, 2007 by California legislation. Until July 2008 the college was voluntarily regulated by the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). At the time of this writing, the state legislature has not passed legislation renewing DCA's authority to regulate the college. The college is approved to award:
- Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM)
- Master of Science (Traditional Oriental Medicine)
- Bachelor of Health Science (Asian Holistic Health & Massage)
- Associate of Science (Massage Therapy/Asian Bodywork)
- Associate of Applied Science (Holistic Health Science)
- Massage Therapist/Asian Bodywork Certificate
The New York campus is registered with the New York State Education Department and approved by the Board of governors. The college is approved to award:
- Bachelor of Professional Studies/Master of Science in Oriental Medicine
- Bachelor of Professional Studies/Master of Science in Acupuncture
- Bachelor of Professional Studies (Asian Holistic Health and Massage)
- Associate of Occupational Studies (Massage Therapies)
- Certificate in Herbal Medicine for L.Ac. Practitioners
The Chicago campus has been approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education. The college is approved to award:
- Master of Science (Traditional Oriental Medicine)
- Bachelor of Science (Asian Holistic Health & Massage)

Student Body [edit]
Pacific College has approximately 1,200 students enrolled. San Diego is the largest campus with approximately 500 enrolled students. The school is accredited by the ACAOM and its graduates are eligible for state licensure and national certification.
