Maharashtra State Film Awards, one of prestigious awards of Marathi cinema, are awarded by the Government of Maharashtra to Marathi language films and artistes. It was first awarded in 1963.

2000[edit]

This year's award ceremony took place at Dadoji Kondadev Stadium, Thane with the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh inaugurating the function. Actor Ashok Saraf won his eleventh award for Best Actor in Comic Role category. Following awards were presented:

  • Best Dialogue - Prashant Dalvi for Bhet[2]

  • Best Music Director - Shriram Umrani for Dahavi Pha[2]
  • Best Singer (Male) - Ajit Parab for Krishnakathchi Meera[2]
  • Best Singer (Female)- Yogita Godbole for Krishnakathchi Meera[2]
  • Best Choreography - Umesh Jadhav for Aadharstambh[2]
  • Best Child Artiste - Apoorva Koregoave for Bhet[2]
