The Los Angeles Ballet, located in Los Angeles, California was founded in 2006.[1]
It is led by the husband and wife team of Thordal Christensen and Colleen Neary, who serve as artistic directors. Christensen danced with the Royal Danish Ballet, and he and Neary both performed with the New York City Ballet and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. In 1999, the Royal Danish Ballet appointed Christensen as artistic director and Neary as first ballet mistress in charge of productions. Neary is also a repetiteur for The George Balanchine Trust, a designation which allows her to stage Balanchine ballets for professional companies.[1]
