Lauren Lane (born February 2, 1961[citation needed]) is a television and stage actress. She is best known for her role as C. C. Babcock on The Nanny.[1]

Biography [edit]
Lane was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and raised in Texas.[2] Lane attended Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also earned a Master's degree in the advanced training program at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.[2] Lane is currently a professor in the Theatre Department at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas[1] and resides with her family in Austin, Texas.
Lane was married to David Wilkins [3] and together they had one daughter, Kate Wilkins (born February 23, 1998) who currently attends Austin High School in Austin, Texas.[4]
Career [edit]
Lauren Lane began her acting career in the 1984 film, Interface. Following Interface, Lane went on to star in television and film productions such as Positive I.D., Nervous Ticks, Hunter, and L.A. Law, before being cast as C.C. Babcock in The Nanny in 1993. Lane starred in The Nanny until the show ended in 1999. During her time on The Nanny, Lane also appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in August 1997.
Following Lane's role in The Nanny, Lane voiced Ivana Baiul in the 1999/2000 film, Gen¹³. In December 2004, Lane joined the rest of the cast of The Nanny for the Lifetime one-hour special, The Nanny Reunion: A Nosh to Remember.
Since 2000, Lane has done shows with Zachary Scott Theatre, located in Austin, Texas. More recently, in 2010, Lane was a guest on The Fran Drescher Show.[5][citation needed]
