The Independent Women's Football League is a full-contact Women's American football league that was founded in 2000 and began play in 2001. It is one of three full-contact, 11-on-11 football leagues for women, along with the Women's Football Alliance and the Women's Spring Football League, and the oldest of the three. Laurie Frederick is the league's founder and CEO.
