GABA antagonists > GABA antagonist
GABA antagonists are drugs which inhibit the action of GABA. In general these drugs produce stimulant and convulsant effects, and are mainly used for counteracting overdoses of sedative drugs.
Examples include Bicuculline and Metrazol, and the benzodiazepine GABAA receptor antagonist Flumazenil. Also thujone and muira puama may have properties of GABAA receptor antagonism.
Note: See the GABAA receptor PAMs navbox for a full list of GABAA positive allosteric modulators.
