Deepak Acharya (born April 30, 1975) is an Indian microbiologist and botanist from Chhindwara.[1][2] His work has involved the documentation of indigenous knowledge of Gond and Bharia tribes of the Patalkot Forest in Madhya Pradesh. He is currently scouting the knowledge of herbal healers of Dangs in Gujarat and Aravallis in Rajasthan. He has so far written 4 books, 50 research articles and more than 1000 popular articles in various magazines of International and National repute and online portals. His book entitled "Indigenous Herbal Medicines: Tribal Formulations and Traditional Herbal Practices" has been appreciated world over. He has been featured on covers of The Wall Street Journal Weekend Edition, 12th May 2006.
