Calmar is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located in Leduc County, on Highway 39, 35 kilometres (22 mi) south-west from Edmonton.

Demographics[edit]
In the 2011 Census, the Town of Calmar had a population of 1,970 living in 760 of its 798 total dwellings, a 0.6% change from its 2006 population of 1,959. With a land area of 4.65 km2 (1.80 sq mi), it had a population density of 423.7/km2 (1,097.3/sq mi) in 2011.[2]
The population of the Town of Calmar according to its 2009 municipal census is 2,033.[5]
In 2006, Calmar had a population of 1,959 living in 741 dwellings, a 3.0% increase from its 2001 population of 1,902. The town had a land area of 4.34 km2 (1.68 sq mi) and a population density of 451.1 /km2 (1,168 /sq mi).[6]
Economy[edit]
The Town of Calmar is a member of the Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Authority, an economic development partnership that markets Alberta's International Region[7] in proximity to the Edmonton International Airport.[8]
