CBD was launched on October 15, 1964 at 1110 on the AM band. Prior to its launch, CBC Radio programming was aired on private affiliate CHSJ 1150. A simulcast on FM 91.3 began in 1981 before the AM transmitter was shut down in 1988.^[2]^[3]
