Alexandria is a former settlement in Merced County, California.^[1] It was located on the 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Hopeton.^[1]

A post office operated at Alexandria from 1869 to 1871.^[1] The name honored Alexander C. McSwain, its first postmaster.^[1]
