FAQ Frequently Asked Questions about Digplanet
What is Digplanet?Digplanet gathers, organizes, and semantically structures information, media, and metadata from around the Internet. Each page on Digplanet is focused on a particular topic, and information and media about that topic. Digplanet creates context and structure around each topic by using metadata to place and link each page in a conceptual hierarchy of topics and subjects. For example, Ancient Rome is included as part of Ancient History, which is part of Historical Eras. Topics and pages usually belong to more than one section, and often many sections. Each page is linked to the sections it belongs to, so that you can browse among related topics easily. Is Digplanet a "scraper" website? No. Digplanet only includes content and media that is shared with us by the websites that own it, such as Wikipedia, Youtube, and Google. Digplanet never scrapes any websites. Digplanet is great! How do I support Digplanet? Do you take donations? Thanks, we're glad that you like it! We don't currently take donations, but we have ads which help support our effort. We do encourage you to please support Wikipedia, which is a vital source of information on the Internet and a key part of Digplanet, and is very happy to take your donation. How do I remove a link on Digplanet?Digplanet does not edit or manage the content it receives from the websites that own it. If your page is linked in the Wikipedia section of a Digplanet page, you need to edit your content on Wikipedia to remove the link. Once it is removed from Wikipedia, Wikipedia will send Digplanet the updated content in a day or two. How do I remove a video on Digplanet?Currently videos on Digplanet are only shared with us by Youtube. You can use your video manager in your Youtube account to change the privacy settings on your video. If your video is set to "unlisted" then it will not be included on Digplanet. If the video belongs to you but you did not upload it to Youtube, then you need to contact Youtube to report that someone is using your video without your permission. How do I edit a page on Digplanet? It depends on which part of the page you want to edit, but content in the tabbed sections - Wikipedia, Youtube, News, Book, and Tweets - must all be edited on the websites that share it with us. We don't change the content that they share with us. How do I add a page, or a link, or a video on Digplanet?Currently we don't have a way for you to add your own page or link or video to Digplanet, but it is something that many people have requested, so it's on our radar. Stay tuned. What is Digparty?Digparty is a project that we are currently developing. It will add to Digplanet in ways that we're excited about, but we're not ready to talk about.
